Peak of Daily Grape Processing Observed in Kakheti

During last 24 hours, about 40 wineries processed up to 6,000 tons of grapes in Kakheti region, this is a peak of the current vintage season, which indicates that the vintage has entered an active phase in Kakheti. 

There are already 220 wine-producing companies registered at the vintage HQ, which will be involved in various stages of the vintage process.

According to the data of September 13, 14:00,  30 thousand tons of different grapes have been processed in Kakheti region, including 15,4 thousand tons of Rkatsiteli, 9 tons of Saperavi, 2,5 thousand tons of Kakhuri Mtsvane and other different varieties.

At this stage, the highest amount of grapes was processed in Kvareli and Sighnaghi municipalities: up to 8-8 thousand tons.

Up to 40 wineries will be involved in the process of grape processing in Gurjaani, Dedoplistskaro, Signagi, Telavi and Kvareli municipalities.

This year about 200-250 thousand tons of grapes are expected to be harvested in Kakheti region. LEPL National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is mobilized to ensure, that growers can deliver grapes in an organized and smooth way.
