"Once you've Nurtured the Vine, Life Becomes Unimaginable without it" - says Irakli Tandashvili

Irakli Tandashvili is no stranger to rural life and agriculture. Having spent his entire childhood in the villages of Kakheti and Imereti, his decision to become a farmer was deeply rooted in his early connection with nature and farming.

Together with a close friend, Irakli established a vineyard in Kvareli. Today, their flourishing farm spans an impressive 25 hectares, where the duo cultivates five types of wine: Saperavi, Kis, Khikhiv, Kakhuri green, and Rkatsiteli, all produced from handpicked, carefully nurtured grapes.

Irakli remarks, "Once you caress the vine, it's challenging to live without it. I can't envision engaging in any other profession in the future."

Join us in exploring the journey of this modern farmer, Irakli Tandashvili. Irakli believes in two fundamental principles for successful agriculture in the contemporary era: deep knowledge of the field and effective process automation. With his dependable partner, "Agrosphere," he has been able to achieve a seamless integration of these two principles, resulting in high agricultural efficiency.

With the aid of cutting-edge equipment, sophisticated irrigation systems, innovative plant protection products from Bayer, and an optimal mix of mineral and organic fertilizers, Irakli ensures the growth of robust, high-quality vines. To assure accurate fertilizer dosage, he performs an annual soil analysis.

The wines produced by Irakli Tandashvili have already started making waves in the industry. In 2021, his Rkatsiteli and Kis wines were recognized at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, securing a gold and silver medal respectively.

However, this is just the beginning. Irakli has plans to plant Kakhuri deciduous vines soon, and he does not dismiss the possibility of introducing French grape varieties to Georgian soil in the future.
