Nutsa Abramishvili: Georgian Citizens Resume Visiting Domestic Resorts and Hotels

Citizens of Georgia have started visiting domestic resorts and hotels amid the pandemic, Schuchmann Wines Georgia director general Nutsa Abramishvili told Business Partner. We are pleased to see this process and we expect these trends to intensify, Nutsa Abramishvili added.

“When analyzing sectoral collapse, we should understand that this is a global process in the tourism industry and gastronomy business and these trends directly affect the tourists’ inflow indicators too. Notably, simultaneously with the global tourism collapse, we have maintained good indicators in domestic tourism. Earlier, citizens of Georgia used to visit various countries for holidaymaking, including Turkish resorts, and spend much money there.

Now, in 2020-2021 these financial resources were accumulated in Georgia”, Nutsa Abramishvili said. When the situation is stabilized, 50% of domestic tourists will circulate at domestic resorts, and together with foreign tourists, we will receive a very good balance, Nutsa Abramishvili said.
