Number of Exported Wines Increased by 20% Compared to Last Year
According to the data of January-October 2019, 75,6 million bottles (0.75 liters) of wine have been exported to 53 countries around the world, which is 11% higher than the same period in 2018.
Exported wine costs reached 195 million USD, which is 20% higher than in the same period in 2018.
Exports to strategic Georgian wine markets increased: US - 51% (603762 bottles), UK - 3% (106855), Poland - 16% (3225982) and China - 12% (6060265).
Growth is also remarkable in the following countries: Lietuva - 56% (570948), Germany - 34% (506565), Belarus - 62% (2193257), Israel - 85% (240893), Estonia - 20% (559412), Russia - 11% (47201598), Moldova - 7090% (509018), Netherlands - 28% (81562), Czech Republic 98% - (66144), Sweden - 460% (64962), Bulgaria - 73% (32934), Australia - 16% (19756), Canada - 12% (134850), Mongolia - 38% (224652) and etc.
The first ten of the exporting countries is the following: Russia (47201598), Ukraine (8306807), China (6060265), Poland (3225982), Kazakhstan (2958618), Belarus (2193257), Latvia (1089768), USA (603762), Lietuva (570948) and Estonia (559412).
According to 10 months, 302 companies exported different amount of wine.
In addition, 23,8 million bottles (0.5 l) of brandy was exported to 23 countries worldwide, which is 52% more than in 2018. The brandy export revenue amounted to $ 50,8 million (up by 58%). 521,7 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of Chacha was exported to 27 countries worldwide, export growth amounted to 62%. Exported Chacha revenue reaches $ 1.5 million (up by 58%).
Totally, wine, brandy, Chacha, brandy spirit and brandy in pour exports revenue amounted to $ 284 million, up by 12% from the same period last year.
