Vinexpo America International Wine and Spirits Exhibition was held in New York, USA. 23 Georgian wine and spirits companies participated in the exhibition with the support of the National Wine Agency.

The USA is one of the largest importers of wine in the world and it is very important for us to establish ourselves in this market. In 2022, we have a lot of exciting activities planned in the US, including tastings, educational seminars, media campaigns. It is important to note that the export price of Georgian wine is one of the highest in the US market, "said Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency.
Within the framework of the international exhibition "Vinexpo America", Georgian wine producers held meetings with importers, sommelier,s and representatives of trade networks. This was the largest international presentation of Georgian wine since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Georgian wine is slowly settling in and becoming more and more interesting on the US market. "Americans are especially interested in Georgian amber wine, which means that it has a future and will gradually gain a foothold in the US market," said wine importer Lenny Dorfman.
American sommelier, Judy Gildin, says that when Americans hear the 8000-year history of Georgian wine, they want to taste it. "Everyone is familiar with French, Italian, and American wines. Customers want to taste something new and different, something like you have never tasted before, they are ready for something new. This is exactly what Georgian wine is like; I think more and more people will get to know him in the near future, "said Judy Guildin.
Consul General of Georgia in New York Diana Zhgenti attended the exhibition.
It should be noted that the United States is one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine, wherein 2021 the historical maximum of exports - 1 million bottles of Georgian wine was recorded.
