Iago's Wine Plans to Sell Wines on Local Market from 2025
Iago's Wine will be sold on the Georgian market from 2025. As Iago Bitarishvili, the founder of Iago's Wine states, they will put it up on sale in niche places, for example, in wine bars.
The company produces one denomination of wine, Chinuri, and sells it entirely for export. Export geography includes 11 countries: Italy, France, England, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.
"We are quite a small cellar to be presented on both international and the local market. We are going to expand in the near future, as a result of which we will enter the Georgian market, ”Bitarishvili said.
The winemaker also talks about the possible impact of the Russia-Ukraine war and says that the situation at his small winery will certainly have an indirect impact, though not a direct one, as the company has never exported wine to Russia and had a very small share in Ukraine.
Iago Bitarishvili has a vineyard in the village of Chardakhi, Mtskheta district. The vineyard is an organic farm because it does not use chemical fertilizers and pesticides. "Iago Marani" pours about 5000-6000 bottles of wine a year. He ages the wine in a traditional Georgian way in a pitcher.
