Government to Subsidize Vintage with GEL 60 Million

The government will subsidize the vintage with 60 million GEL. Co-financing does not apply to Saperavi and other rare varieties, which are already in high demand.

As for Rkatsiteli, the National Wine Agency expects that without its subsidy, its price will fall below cost. At this stage, the agency cannot name the forecast value of grapes.

According to Levan Mekhuzla, in case of excess grapes on the market, the state-owned company Akura is ready to buy the product.

Of the 60 million GEL allocated for the announcement, 40 million will be allocated directly for subsidies, and 20 million will be allocated for the state-owned company Akura.
