Georgian Wine Showcased in Paris with Tastings at Ferrandi and Michelin-Starred Venues

With the support of Georgia’s National Wine Agency, a series of Georgian wine tastings were held in Paris, aiming to promote the country’s wines to French culinary professionals and support the diversification of export markets.

One of the tastings took place at Ferrandi Paris, one of France’s most prestigious gastronomy schools, while another event targeted the HoReCa sector and Michelin-starred restaurants, with a focus on pairing Georgian wines with French cuisine.

The events were attended by Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, and Ekaterine Kokaia, Georgia’s Ambassador to France. The tastings were led by Ana Godabrelidze, Chair of the Agency’s Tasting Commission.

As part of his visit, Mekhuzla met with Nicolas Caillard, Business Development Project Manager of the International Department at Ferrandi Paris, to explore future avenues for collaboration.

“The goal of participating in these events is to promote Georgian wine in niche international markets, increase export potential, and position Georgian wine—particularly qvevri wine—as a premium category,” said Mekhuzla.

Since 2013, the National Wine Agency has implemented targeted marketing and awareness campaigns to promote Georgian wine abroad. France, as a global leader in winemaking and gastronomy, has seen rising interest in Georgian wine, especially traditional qvevri varieties.
