Draft Government Resolution on Measures for the Organized Conduct of the 2026 Rtveli and Support for Grape Sales

The draft resolution of the Government of Georgia, titled “On Measures to Be Implemented for the Organized Conduct of the 2026 Vintage (Rtveli)”, aims to support the sale of grapes harvested by winegrowers during the 2026 harvest season and to ensure that the process is conducted in an organized manner.

During the 2026 vintage, in the event of surplus production and if the private sector does not express sufficient interest in purchasing grapes, the state will set differentiated purchase prices per 1 kg of grapes based on quality, as follows (for grape varieties permitted under the Law of Georgia “On Vine and Wine”):

  • Sugar content above 20% – 1.30 GEL
  • Sugar content between 17% and 20% – 0.80 GEL
  • Sugar content below 17% – 0.30 GEL

For Saperavi grapes, the prices are:

  • Sugar content above 22% – 1.50 GEL
  • Sugar content between 17% and 22% – 0.90 GEL
  • Sugar content below 17% – 0.30 GEL

In the Racha region, in order to stimulate private sector involvement and ensure the organized processing of the harvest, the project also предусматривает grape subsidies. Subsidies will be granted to all companies that pay no less than 8 GEL per 1 kg of Aleksandrouli and/or Mujuretuli grapes harvested in the Khvanchkara microzone.

The amount of state subsidy for wine companies in the Racha-Lechkhumi region will be 4 GEL per 1 kg for both Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties.

To ensure the organized handling of the grape harvest, a Rtveli Coordination Headquarters will be established, which will operate 24/7.
