Bolnisi - Golden Wine City
A wine tasting event was held in the Bolnisi museum organized by the association of winemakers "Wine Bolnisi", and supported by the local municipality and the company RMG.
38 best wines of 15 Bolnisi wineries were presented at the event, assessed by the "Georgian Wine Guild" according to the OIV international standard.
"Bolnisi is one of the oldest regions and cities in terms of winery, which is not a well-known fact. Since the foundation of the association, we have been actively introducing the region and its wine culture to the public. Today's event also serves this purpose - to introduce Bolnisi as a golden wine city to wine lovers and wine-related society.", noted the founder of "Wine Bolnisi", Guram Avqopashvili.
Within the framework of the event, gastronomic tourism expert Keti Kvichidze and chef Misha Avsajanishvili served guests dishes inspired by the traditional authentic cuisine of Kvemo Kartli and specially paired Bolnisi wines. In addition to this, a presentation of the "Bovi" cocktail was held on-site, which was specially created for this day.
"I and chef Daduna Ghlonti created dishes related to Bolnisi and its culture. They will soon become Bolnisi's business card and will be presented in local restaurants and hotels in the near future.", noted Misha Avsajanishvili.
Representatives of various state agencies and the hospitality sector, industry experts, and technologists attended the event - "Bolnisi - Golden Wine City, Discover Wine of Bolnisi".
Association of winemakers "Bolnisi Wine" was established in 2018 and unites more than 40 small family wineries. Various interesting and beneficial projects were launched as a result of the memorandum of cooperation formed between "Bolnisi Wine", the company "RMG" and the municipality of Bolnisi. "RMG" supports the association to manufacture and popularize Bolnisi wines.
"The event "Bolnisi - Golden Wine City" was held co-organized and supported by RMG. Excellent wines were evaluated by the special jury and awarded by the Wine Guild. We think that these kind of events are essential for local wine merchants and will promote the development of regional winemaking.", declared the corporate director of RMG, Kakhaber Mchedlishvili
