Average Price of Georgian Wine Rises by 40 Cents Globally, Says Davit Tkemaladze
Davit Tkemaladze, the Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency, announced a significant achievement in the global wine market during his appearance on the "Business Partner" program.
According to Tkemaladze, the average price of Georgian wine has increased by 40 cents worldwide, marking a substantial step forward for the industry.
Tkemaladze explained that Georgian wine is now positioned within the medium and premium market segments. "Like any wine region, such as Bordeaux, we offer wines across a spectrum of price points. Our strategic goal at the National Wine Agency is to elevate Georgian wine as a distinct category, comparable to renowned names like French or Italian wines. Achieving this status is within reach but will require continued effort and investment," he stated.
He further highlighted the unique aspects of Georgian wine: "The diversity of our wine varieties and appellations means Georgian wine isn't just a bulk product but a distinct offering in the marketplace."
