American Wine Master Lisa Perrotti-Brown Visits Georgia to Explore Western Georgian Wines

As part of the collaboration between the National Wine Agency and the American company Big Sky Ranch Inc., American Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown visited Georgia.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown toured wineries in the Imereti and Racha regions, where she tasted a variety of Georgian wines and learned about the country’s traditional winemaking practices. During a special tasting held in Tbilisi, she sampled around 50 wines from various Georgian producers.

She also attended the Gurjaani Wine Festival, where she gave a presentation on the prospects and opportunities for Georgian wine exports to the American market.

Following her visit, Lisa Perrotti-Brown will prepare a new article on the wines of Western Georgia for the American publication The Wine Palate. In fact, after her previous visit in July of this year, she published an article in September titled "Georgian Wines Step Onto the Global Stage" in The Wine Palate.

The Wine Palate is an online platform featuring a database of wines reviewed by experts from around the world, with regularly updated reviews. The site is designed to help consumers easily find their preferred wine styles while enhancing their tasting experience. Lisa Perrotti-Brown mainly reviews American and Bordeaux wines, as well as Champagne. This autumn, Georgian wines were added to her portfolio.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown has worked in the wine industry for over 25 years and is one of the most influential voices in the field.

The United States is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. Since 2013, targeted marketing efforts supported by the National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to the growth of Georgian wine awareness and exports in the U.S. market.
