Additional Hotline to Be Launched for the 2025 Vintage
To ensure a smooth and coordinated 2025 grape harvest, an additional hotline will be activated by the Vintage Coordination Headquarters. The dedicated number – 0322 193 283 – will begin operating as soon as the harvest officially starts. It will function 24 hours a day throughout the vintage period.
Winegrowers and producers can also continue to access information through the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s main hotline at 1501.
“The state continues to support winegrowers and farmers to ensure the smooth realization of the grape harvest,” said Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency. “The hotline of the coordination headquarters will operate around the clock to respond promptly to inquiries and issues raised by winegrowers and producers. This additional channel will play an important role in supporting the efficiency of the vintage process.”
The headquarters, which will oversee the 2025 harvest, is located in the village of Gurjaani, in the heart of the Kakheti region.
According to a recent government decision, the state will no longer subsidize private wine companies. Instead, surplus grapes not purchased by the private sector will be taken over by the state-owned LLC “Harvest Management Company.” The official procurement prices have been set as follows: GEL 1.50 per kilogram for Saperavi grapes harvested in Kakheti; GEL 1.20 for other grape varieties authorized under the Law of Georgia “On Vine and Wine”; and GEL 1.00 for substandard grapes (sugar content not exceeding 18%) or damaged/diseased grapes.
The hotline and state procurement measures aim to streamline the harvest, support farmers, and maintain the high quality of Georgian winemaking.
