46.4 Million Bottles – Georgian Wine Exports Surpass Pre-Pandemic Indicators

Georgian wine exports have increased. The 1H21 exports have grown compared to the 2020 and 2019 periods. According to the National Wine Agency, in the first half of 2021, Georgia exported 46.6 million bottles to 56 countries, up 13% compared to the same period of 2020.

Georgia’s incomes from wine exports constituted $104 million, up 7% compared to January-June 2020. Notably, in January-June 2019 Georgia exported 40.5 million bottles of wines worth $98 million.

Georgia has maintained the wine exports growth dynamics on the strategic markets:

Poland – 31% (2 864 152), China - 10% (2 762 922), Lithuania - 38% (245 940), Latvia - 2% (809 106), the USA - 35% (502 353), Germany - 4% (364 459), Estonia - 3% (348 538) and Great Britain - 60% (283 830). Georgia’s total revenues from exports of wines, brandy, Chacha, brandy spirits constituted $170 million, up 13% year on year.
