25-Year-Old Georgian Winemaker Took Over the Supervision of Two Wineries in Bordeaux

The 25-year-old Georgian winemaker, Ana Alasania, took over the supervision of two wineries in France, namely in the Bordeaux region. The factories owned by the company Vignoble K produce about 37,500 bottles of wine per year.

"We produce red dry wine with an "assemblage" of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Two factories release wines of four denominations, three of which belong to the Pomerol region, and the fourth to Saint-Emilion," Ana Alasania said in an interview with bm.ge.

As Ana says, before starting work at Vignoble K, she also worked at Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Bordeaux.

"Approximately three years ago, I decided to apply for a master's degree in winemaking and viticulture in Bordeaux. In the last year of my studies, for my master's thesis, I did an internship at Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande (in the Bordeaux region, specifically in the Medoc district), where after the internship and receiving the diploma, I was signed a one-year contract and stayed to work. I had to work mostly in the vineyard," says Ana Alasania.

Two months ago, Ana got a new job at Vignoble K, where she signed a lifetime contract in two small wineries that produce four wines.

Before Bordeaux, the young winemaker studied at the Faculty of Winemaking and Viticulture at the Georgian Agrarian University. As she explains, her first job was at the wine shop bar "8000 Vintages", where she worked as a wine consultant and waitress. "Working there gave me great experience and introduced me to the Georgian wine market," says Ana.

She says that she sees the distant future with Georgia, and before that she wants to gain work experience in France so that she can return to her homeland with an exciting idea and plan.
