Wizz Air to Operate Flights at Tbilisi Airport During Kutaisi Airport Rehabilitation

In October, due to the closure of Kutaisi International Airport, Wizz Air will operate flights at Tbilisi International Airport for 14 days.

Tea Zakaradze noted that the airport operator company - TAV Georgia is ready to receive flights from any company that wishes to fly to Tbilisi and Batumi international airports.

She explained that Wizz Air requested permission to operate flights from Tbilisi during the closure of Kutaisi Airport.

"We have expressed our readiness and we confirm that all flights departing from Kutaisi International Airport will depart from Tbilisi International Airport within 14 days in October," Zakaradze said.

We remind you that according to the information of the Union of Airports, the planned infrastructure project will be implemented from October 10 to October 24. Repair works will be carried out on the part of the foundation of the runway.

According to Tamar Archuadze, Director of the Airports Union, the airlines that operate at Kutaisi Airport will decide for themselves whether to continue flights to other Georgian airports during the rehabilitation period or to pause them completely for 2 weeks.
