Wizz Air Sees 110.2% Increase on Georgian Market
Wizz Air, Europe's fastest-growing and most environmentally sustainable airline, celebrates a record number of passengers carried in 2022. From January to December last year, 45.7 million passengers chose Wizz Air. Compared to the same period of 2021, this is a 110.2% increase.
In 2022, Wizz Air continued to expand, which was reflected in the addition of 275 new routes to 142 destinations. Over the past year, the airline has taken delivery of 27 brand-new Airbus aircraft, bringing its fleet size to 177. Thanks to the ultra-modern aircraft fleet, the average annual carbon emissions of the airline amounted to 55.2 grams, which is the lowest figure ever recorded by Wizz Air in one calendar year.
The growth of airline Wizz Air is particularly noteworthy in the Georgian market. The airline has transported more than 3.2 million passengers from and to Georgia since the start of operations in the country. The airline currently operates 27 routes from Georgia to the following destinations: Austria, Belgium. Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and United Arab Emirates.
