Visitors can Enjoy Canyoning in Adjara for the First Time

According to Tinatin Zoidze, Chairperson of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, Adjara is preparing for the tourist season.

According to him, the Ministries of Economy and Finance, as well as the Government of Adjara have instructions to take care of the successful operation of the maritime tourism season.

"Challenges are in this direction and it should be noted that the pandemic had an impact both in terms of service and infrastructure. Nevertheless, both the city and the municipalities are actively working to make the tourist season a success.

We have been receiving a specific assignment from the Ministries of Economy and Finance and the Government of Adjara for months now to work within our competence on the issues that will contribute to the success of the maritime tourism season.

The main tourist destinations in Batumi are, for example, Batumi Boulevard, and city streets, which are important from a tourism point of view to be orderly and we work on this in coordination with the relevant agencies. It is also important for tourists visiting Batumi to find diversified tourism products so that they can have an interesting vacation. For this, we have created different tourist products, both in the city and in the municipalities, for example, this year for the first time a visitor will be able to enjoy canyoning in Adjara.

The Botanic Garden has also been updated with services and attractions added, such as a zipline. Trails in national parks have also been renovated. Access paths to the new waterfalls were also arranged and added. "The private sector has been active and during the last 2 years, during the pandemic, more than 100 new tourist facilities have been opened in the region, which will offer services to visitors this year," Zoidze said in the program.
