“Visitor Numbers to Georgia’s Protected Areas Increased by 13% Compared to Last Year” – Agency
In 2025, 1,250,417 visitors traveled to Georgia’s protected areas, marking a record-high figure. Compared to 2024, visitor numbers increased by nearly 13%, according to information released by the Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia.
The Agency notes that these statistics reflect the growing popularity of protected areas among both domestic and international visitors.
The most visited protected areas in 2025 were:

In 2025, the number of Georgian visitors reached 515,188, reflecting a 12% increase compared to 2024. The number of international visitors rose by 14%, totaling 735,229 visitors.
The data confirm that Georgia’s protected areas are becoming increasingly attractive destinations, significantly contributing to the development of ecotourism and the promotion of the country’s natural heritage.
Throughout 2025, the Agency of Protected Areas continued to work on the development of recreational infrastructure and services, creating a safe and comfortable environment for visitors while ensuring the sustainable protection of natural heritage, the Agency said.
