Tbilisi City Hall Planning the Rehabilitation of Vera Garden

Tbilisi City Hall, in cooperation with the Asian Bank, has decided to rehabilitate Vera Garden.

"Participatory planning of Vera Garden will be the best precedent for the proper development of other green spaces, to promote citizen integration and engagement. It is the first project in which international financial organizations are participating in the implementation of such projects," the Tbilisi mayor said.

According to Kakha Kaladze, they are at the stage of planning. 

According to him, Vera Garden is a cultural heritage monument, therefore the original look will be preserved.

"Vera Garden, which is one of the oldest and most historic recreational areas in the city, needs to be completely renovated. The current situation is not really satisfactory. Therefore, special attention will be paid here to keep the original look as much as possible, however, this project will arrange green spaces - with new trees, irrigation systems, I am sure it will be one of the centers of attraction, a place where people of all generations will have rest and have fun ", - said Kakha Kaladze.

According to him, the project will cost 700 000 GEL. It will take 10-12 months to develop the project before its implementation.
