'Station' in Asureti's German District is Planning to Host Oktoberfest
The tourist facility "Station" opened a month ago in the Elizabethtal district of Asureti and is already planning to expand. As its founder, Giorgi Baratashvili explains, they would like to add a pool, activities, and festival space.
"The idea came in 2014 when I decided to create a European space while traveling to Asureti, a village with a different style and architecture. First, I chose a location, I bought land, which at one time was a German tractor station, and then I built a small European village from the ruins," says Giorgi Baratashvili at BM.ge.
He claims that the number of visitors is always increasing and that the traditional German celebration "Oktoberfest" is planned for October when the summer season ends.
In November, a special space for the World Cup will be organized in the area, where it will be possible to watch the game on a big screen, and in December, the area will be transformed into a Christmas village.
Today, the tourist space "Station" combines a restaurant, a beer bar, and a guesthouse, although the founders of the station say that this is only the beginning.
