Resort Haven 'Sunset Shovi' in Racha Reopens after Two-Year Hiatus

After a two-year pause, the "Sunset Shovi" hotel has reopened its doors in the idyllic region of Racha.

Situated in the resort town of Show, the hotel boasts 30 well-appointed rooms of varying types and 2 cottages, all managed by the global hospitality firm, Hotel Collection International. Project Operations Manager of Hotel Collection International, Anna Muradashvili, shared with BM.GE that the hotel prioritizes creating a comfortable atmosphere for guests. Alongside accommodation, they offer both one-time and three-time meal options. Additionally, the hotel features a range of recreational facilities including table tennis, table football, billiards, an indoor basketball court, an outdoor multi-use sports court, and a dedicated children's play area.

After a week of reopening, the "Sunset Shovi" has slowly started seeing a rise in accommodation demand. While Muradashvili noticed a significant interest from locals in vacationing in Show, international guests also form part of their clientele. She highlighted that the peak holiday season in Zemo Racha typically commences in mid-July and extends through August.

Room prices at "Sunset Shovi" start at 200 GEL per day, with costs varying depending on room types. Breakfast is included in the room rate, with options to add lunch and dinner. The hotel aims to cater to a diverse range of guests, offering both passive and active recreational plans.

Nestled 1600 meters above sea level and situated 265 km from Tbilisi, Shovi is renowned for its moderate alpine climate, with cold, snowy winters and pleasantly warm summers (average August temperature is about 17°C). Since 2017, real estate development company "Simetrias" has been spearheading a comprehensive development plan for the Shovi resort. The plan includes creating 5-star, 4-star, and 3-star hotels, cottages, and diverse sporting, entertainment, and balneologic-recreational infrastructure, positioning the resort as a desirable vacation destination year-round. The project is estimated to require over 130 million dollars in investment. The primary partners in this endeavor are "Sunset Shovi" Hotel, G&M Shovi-Racha Resorts Hotel, and "Mamison" boarding house, who collectively own the majority of the resort's historical area. All hotels in the resort are managed by the Hotel Collection International.
