Protected Area to be Managed in Ratcha

It is planned to develop new protected area in the municipality of Oni. Draft law is already prepared.

Representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia discussed the matters of developing new protected area in the region of Ratcha with locals.

"Within the frameworks of the politics implemented by Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, space of protected areas are increasing on the whole territory of the country. Founding protected areas is a crucial matter for Ratcha since it will promote protecting biodiversity and, accordingly, will improve the social-economic conditions of local inhabitants.", declared Toma Dekanoidze, deputy of the chairman of Agency of Protected Areas.
