Petra Fortress Rehabilitation to Complete in 2020

A total of GEL 1 750 000 will be allocated from the budget for rehabilitation of Petra Fortress. In the frames of the project adapted paths, a visitor center, a café, exhibition buildings and parking lots will be arranged in the fortress’ area.

In the coming days, we are launching a large-scale infrastructure project on the area of  Petra Fortress. The infrastructure will be improved and adapted to tourists as much as possible. After the project is completed, we will have a cultural heritage monument, which will be a tourist destination of a new international standard, - Tornike Rizhvadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of  Adjara, says.

According to the administration, the works will be completed in 2020.
