Patrick Honnef: We Plan to Open a New Hotel, Wine Shop and Equastrian Center at Chateau Mukhrani

Chateau Mukhrani took the 58th place among the 100 best vineyards in the world. This is not the first international recognition for the company.

As Patrick Honnef, CEO and Chief Winemaker of Chateau Mukhrani, told Forbes, the company continues to grow and set new goals. According to him, next year "Chateau Mukhrani" will officially release the first organic wines.

"We have our own vineyard, which is 100% organic. This is a rarity not only in Georgia but all over the world. In addition to the wine business, we have been very successful in the hospitality business since 2011. We have many awards for exceptional wine quality. So yes, we can be proud that we can compete with so many other beautiful, famous wineries.

I would say that today we have achieved about 50% of the project goals. We will complete the renovation of the palace this year. This is a big stage for us. But we have another very ambitious project. We are working on it and I think we will take many more steps to complete this project in the next two and a half years," he said.

According to him, the first plan is continuous improvement. "We are focused on the quality of customer service, wine quality and the development of hospitality services. I think it will be a new big step for us when we start working inside the palace. We will be able to hold very large-scale, high-level events. We will create new venues to be able to host larger events. There is a great demand for this," explained the General Director of Chateau Mukhrani, adding that the company also plans to build a small hotel next year.

"I hope other people will develop more hotels in our region. We can work with them. We are working on creating a kind of exhibition center and visitor center where we can do exhibitions and expositions. In addition, we will build a place where there will be a professional wine shop and boutique. We have some collections we want to show and also other projects., for example a large equestrian field, "- said Patrick Honnef.
