Landslide Temporarily Closes Shatili Road to All Traffic
Traffic movement has been temporarily restricted on the Zhinvali-Barisakho-Shatili road due to a landslide. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia released the information earlier today.
According to the agency, a mass of earth collapsed at the 96th kilometer of the road, near the village of Giorgitsminda, blocking passage for all types of motor vehicles.
Specialized equipment has been mobilized to the site. Road-clearing operations will begin once the water level decreases and conditions allow for safe intervention.
