Kutaisi and Naples in Talks for Potential Launch of Flights

In Tangier, Morocco, as part of the aviation forum CONNECT 2023, the Director of Georgia's airports, Irakli Karkashadze, is holding meetings with airlines and partner airports, according to the Union of Airports.

During a meeting at the joint stand of the Association of Georgian Airports and the USAID Economic Program, Karkashadze met with the Commercial Director of Naples Airport to discuss the potential for starting flights between Georgia and Naples and future partnership opportunities. The meeting was focused on presenting Kutaisi International Airport on a large scale.

Karkashadze noted that Georgia's interest in Naples is increasing, thanks to Georgian football player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's success in "Napoli," making it one of their priority destinations. Discussions about a possible partnership and direct flights between Georgia and Naples took place during the meeting with Naples International Airport's management. Karkashadze expressed his commitment to establishing cooperation, as Georgia is a new and unique tourist destination for Naples.

On the first day of the Forum, the Union of Georgian Airports also met with several airlines, including SAUDI AIRLINES, Eurowings, AIR Serbia, EASYJET, and the online travel agency SKYSCANNER.
