International Standard Exhibition Space Opened in Machakhela National Park

The new exhibition space opened in the Machakhela National Park with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) was inspected by the Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze.

The event was attended by Davit Gabaidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara, Zaza Shavadze, Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Davit Iosebashvili, Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, and Anna Chernishova, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

"Another important infrastructural project was implemented with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - a modern standard exhibition space designed for users of all ages was organized in the Machakhela National Park visitor center. Visitors coming here will have the opportunity to get complete information about Machakhela National Park. This type of infrastructure contributes to the interest of visitors in a particular region, which positively affects the well-being of the local population", said the Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze.

The exhibition space has an educational function as well as an informative one. The modern exhibition space presents historical artifacts and samples of the unique culture and biodiversity of the Machakhela valley. Visitors will get to know the history and culture of Machakhela valley better and will be able to plan an exciting route for them. Visitors can get additional information about Machakhela National Park in interactive mode.

The arrangement of the exhibition hall was carried out at the initiative of the Protected Areas Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia and with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

"Mathakhela National Park is really an amazing place from the point of view of tourism, because of its extraordinary nature. We are happy that a tourist center and exhibition space have been established here with our support. I hope that visitors will visit and they will really learn more about this place, which is part of the paradise of Georgia" - said the Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Anna Chernyshova.

The project of the exhibition space was prepared by the National Museum of Georgia, and the "Association of Friends of Mtirala and Machakhela Protected Areas" was involved in its technical implementation.
