Georgian Mountain Guides Certified to International Standards
Amateur or professional adventure seekers always agree that safety is paramount. The freedom found in Georgia's mountains is remarkable, and the mountain guide, who is an indisputable guarantee of safety, plays a key role in bringing these impressions to life.
With the help of the European Union, Sweden and Austria, in the framework of the GRETA project, mountain guides from the mountainous regions of Georgia have improved their professional qualifications and now they are professional hiking guides according to international standards.
20 participants professionally engaged in adventure tourism from the mountainous regions of Georgia, in accordance with European standards during all four seasons of the year - undergo theoretical training and practical training on easy, difficult and medium-difficulty adventure tours. As a result, there is a contribution to the development of adventure tourism and the prospect of improving the economic benefits, which gives Georgia the opportunity to be recognized as a Georgian hiker in the international arena, in 25 countries outside Georgia.
"We have completed a long and exciting hiking training course based on European experience. With the support of the European Union, Sweden and Austria under the GRETA project, the School of Adventure Tourism has the opportunity to develop a pedestrian training module in line with international standards. We can boldly say that 20 graduates have all the necessary skills and can safely guide Georgia on impressive walking tours in any type of climate and environment, ”said Archil Tsintsadze, Head of the Adventure Tourism School.
With the support of the European Union, Sweden and Austria, the GRETA project also plans to raise the profile of the cultural community, where participants will have the opportunity for professional growth along with unforgettable adventures.
