Georgia to Host UNWTO Executive Board Meeting in 2020

In June 2020 Georgia will host the meeting of the executive board of UN World Tourism Organization (WTO).

The decision was made in Madrid, Spain. According to National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the meeting with the UNWTO secretary general Zurab Pololikashvili was attended by Mariam Kvrivishvili, head of National Tourism Administration, Georgian Ambassador to Spain Ilia Giorgadze and Kristine Dzidzikuri, deputy head of Adjara Tourism and Resorts Department.

The executive board meeting was to be held in Spring in 2020, but by mediation of Zurab Pololikashvili, this important meeting will be held in Georgia for the first time.

About 40 Ministers and 300 delegates from various countries will attend the meeting in Georgia.

The event will increase the perception on Georgia worldwide in terms of attracting new investments to the tourism field. As part of the event, top managers of international corporations and companies and investors will visit Georgia.
