Georgia Negotiating about Adding a Naples Route Due to Growing Demand

The Union of Georgian Airports is conducting negotiations with the airline on the addition of the Naples route.

Although Irakli Karkashadze, director of the union, did not name a specific airline, it is very likely that the Georgian side is talking to Wizz Air, one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, about adding the mentioned direction.

"Relations with airline companies have one interesting specificity - what are the requirements for this or that direction historically? Therefore, 2-3 years ago it would not make sense to talk about the Naples route with any airline. Today, we can confidently name it as one of the priority directions. We see a growing demand. We have already started working in this direction, and I am sure that we will achieve positive results", said Karkashadze.

It should be noted that recently the interest in Naples from Georgia is at its peak and this is due to the famous Georgian football player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has achieved quite a lot of success in the ranks of "Napoli". Due to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Naples has become such a popular destination that travel companies have started selling tourist packages tailored to Napoli matches. Moreover, even chartered flights from Georgia started to watch the game of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
