GEL 50 Million to Invest in Development of Dashbashi Canyon

Tourist Infrastructure will be arranged in Dashbashi Canyon of Algeti National Park. The implementation of the project was announced several years ago and presumably, the project should have completed in July 2020.

The price of the investment is 50 Million GEL.

The prime minister while surveying the canyon has mentioned, that for the first time in Georgia, private international investment is made in the protected area, which was not suspended due to COVID-19 outbreak. The investment is a record for the region, and the area envisaged by the project is unique and new for Georgia.

"We must discover new places, Dashbashi Canyon has to become one of the destinations.", noted Giorgi Gakharia.

Within the frameworks of the project, 240-meter-long glass bridge is planned to be arranged on Dashbashi Canyon. The minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture mentioned, that the project includes the development of ecotourist infrastructure, paths, and visitor center will be arranged on-site. In the surrounding area, the hotels and other tourist infrastructures will be built.

The canyon, which is one of the largest in Europe, was visited by the prime minister and the members of the government.
