Galt&Taggart: We Expect Tourism Sector to Bring 3.6 billion USD in 2019

We expect the tourism sector to bring about 3.6 billion USD incomes in 2019, up 10%-12% year on year, Eva Bochorishvili, head of the research department of Galt&Taggart noted.

At this stage, Iran and Turkey have major influence on tourism sector, from where the inflow of tourists has essentially declined, she added.
In 2019, Galt&taggart expects the country to host 5.3 million tourists, Bochorishvili said.
“We think the inflow of tourists will be accelerated in the second half of 2019, after the effect of Iran and Turkey will decline in tourism field. This year we expect 5.3 million tourists and 3.6 billion USD incomes. This is 10%-12% growth compared to 2018. As to visitors due to countries, the inflow is growing from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Israel and Ukraine. Slowdown is recorded from Turkey and Iran”, Bochorishvili noted.
