First Airplane of Camex Airlines Arrived in Tbilisi International Airport
The first plane of the new Georgian airline Camex Airlines - Boeing 737-800 BCF - has already arrived in the Tbilisi International Airport, and the plane has successfully passed the initial technical inspection.
As the company notes, the receipt of the board completed an important stage on the way to the start of operations.
"The appearance of a new carrier on the Georgian air market became possible as a result of successful cooperation with the American financial corporation Gazelle Finance. Following a detailed study, our partners saw the capabilities and perspective of the airline team, and the result came - we have already received the first flight. Gazelle Finance, as well as our team, are confident that Camex Airlines will be able to have a say in the development of multimodal transportation opportunities for the South Caucasus region in a short period of time.
All the processes are developing according to the plan and by the end of 2022 "Comex Airlines" will be represented on the market with 4 planes", said Giorgi Seturidze, the head of the company's investment project.
"I would like to especially mention the merits of all the structures and people involved in this process. Orientation to the result, a combination of correct and consistent steps, and, of course, first of all, a highly professional approach to work brought today's result. I would like to thank the group of partners from Gazelle Finance, as well as the heads and representatives of the Aviation Agency and TAV URBAN GEORGIA for the partnership and healthy relationship that was formed in the process of cooperation", said Giorgi Seturidze.
According to him, the process, one of the important phases of which ended with the landing of the first flight at the Tbilisi International Airport, implies a transition to a new stage for the full operation of the airline. "We expect that in accordance with the legislation, the certification process will be completed in a few weeks and we will be able to perform the first commercial flight from August," said Seturidze.
In the end, within the framework of this investment project, 100 million GEL assets have already been added to the economy of Georgia, and the number of new jobs will reach 150, Giorgi Seturidze noted.
