“Tourism will no longer be traditional, as it as before the pandemic”, Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava noted at the presentation of the Government’s anti-crisis plan.

We should our best to prepare the tourism industry for the post-pandemic period, she added.

“Tourism is one of the industries that need our assistance, special support. Previously, tourism industry has promoted our country and today this field needs our assistance. All other businesses may be recovered, but the tourism business is facing different challenges, because not all countries are able to overcome the pandemic and unblock their countries in the near future. Therefore, we are developing a different and special anti-crisis plan for tourism industry…Today, our guides, tour operators are in very heavy situation and so on. They need different plan and we can make country the safest destination by the end of 2020, because the tourism industry will no longer be as traditional as previously. New requirements and standards will be practiced in this field. Georgia will be one of the first countries that will open safe corridors to promote tourism business”, Natia Turnava pointed out.
