Domestic Tourists Spend $0.5 billion on Tourism Industry Services

As Galt & Taggart Company forecasts, in 2020, Georgian citizens are expected to spend 500 million USD on tourism industry services, amid the COVID-19 pandemic and closed borders.

“By our estimations, this contribution will amount to about $500 million and this sum will remunerate about 46% of the losses that tourism industry will record amid restrictions on international visits. Naturally, this is very little amount, however, it will somehow cushion the industry losses. 300 million USD will be spent by those, who previously used to travel abroad, while the remaining 200 million USD were spent on domestic market in previous years too”, Galt&Taggart analytical department director Eva Bochorishvili noted.
