Construction of the Ropeway in Tusheti to Start in 2021
Italian company is planning construction works of a ropeway in Tusheti.
The investment cost of the project is 18 million euros, which will be implemented by the Italian company together with the Georgian side, including the state.
"We are actively working on the construction of a cable car to Tusheti, we have intensive communication with the government and with the joint efforts of a private company and the government, I think this project should enter the construction phase next year," said Irakli Kadagishvili, Kakheti region's representative at Business Partner.
The Italian company will take over the construction and technological part of the ropeway.
The road will start from the bath, the so-called location, from where the narrow, wooded valley ends and crosses the pass, ending nearby Omalo at a certain location.
The government hopes that similar projects will help increase the tourism potential of Tusheti.
According to the Kakheti representative, all the projects that were suspended due to COVID19 have been renewed. "Despite the pandemic, there is interest in implementing new tourism projects," Kadagishvili said.
