Budget Received 127 Million from Domestic Tourism

The budget received 127.2 million GEL from domestic tourism in the first quarter of 2020, an increase of 4.5% over the same period in 2019.

According to Geostat, the average cost of the visit increased by 10.7% and amounted to 122.3 GEL.

The largest share comes from shopping-38.6%, followed by transportation at the second place.

The average number of monthly visits was 887.2 thousand, which made 1 million visits to the country. The number of visitors during the reporting period is 3.4% lower than the corresponding data for the first quarter of 2019.

In total, the average monthly number of tourist visits was 430.2 thousand, which is 8.6% less than in the same period last year.
