Adjara's Most Hard-to-Reach Khikhani Fortress Gets Tourist Trail

Railings and stairs will be added, as well as rest areas, to make climbing the tourist path leading to Khikhani Fortress more convenient.

Khikhani Fortress, at 2236 meters above sea level, is one of Adjara's best-preserved and most hard-to-reach fortresses.

The Department of Tourism of Adjara says that Khikhani Castle will not only become the main destination of alpine routes, but also it will be the main center of attraction, which will increase the number of visitors to the gorge.

Blackberry bushes, wild nature, large stones and logs - all this you will see on the way to the fortress. However, when you reach the end point, your emotions will surpass all expectations: this is a real green paradise near the clouds, at an altitude of over 2.5 km above sea level.
