92 066 Citizens of Russia Cross Georgian Border after Flight Ban from Russia

In the 2nd and 3rd weeks of July, a total of 92 066 citizens of Russia arrived in Georgia, down 17.36% year on year.

The majority of this contingent entered Georgia by land transport (85 876 persons), up 2% year on year.

As to visitors, who have arrived in Georgia by airplane, their total number made up 6.190 persons, down 77% year on year (27.180 persons in the same period of 2018).

Several days ago TBC Research published a new report on Russian tourism embargo. Despite the flight ban, the tourist year of 2019 will be finished with growth instead of slowdown, the report reads.

„We have realistic forecasts that Georgia’s tourism sector will grow by 5% in the next 12 months”, the report reads.
