Virtual Story Making Place for Literature in Modern Technologies
"We want there to be a place for literature in modern technologies"- this is the goal of Virtual Story, to make reading a book more fun and interesting for young people united by one idea.
Virtual Story is a digital book with video game functionality. It allows you to choose the desired character and perceive different literary works from his perspective. The team is now working on a prototype and preparing for the final stage of the Social Impact Award.
"With social media being a huge part of our lives, fewer and fewer people read literature, which is proven by numerous studies. Therefore, our goal is that children who spend a lot of time in the game can get valuable information and have fun with the help of this product,'' said Miranda Namicheishvili, co-founder of Virtual Story.
The team created the first prototype based on "Little Red Riding Hood", where the player-reader has the opportunity to choose the desired character, including even a wolf, to become part of the story, make decisions and get to know the fairy tale through games. The team will also create other series based on famous works.
"Unlike digital books, our project is highly interactive, entertaining, and at the same time, serves to develop critical thinking," says team member Anano Dolidze.
Vazha Kavlelashvili notes that their product will be acceptable to both children and parents. "We often hear that children are banned from playing games, but this is not a solution, we cannot stop their interest in the digital world. Therefore, our idea is to combine books and technologies, which I think will be acceptable to everyone", Vazha explains.
The next step for Virtual Story is to create a platform where users can download the game. As for its business model, Virtual Story, at the first stage, it plans to cooperate with educational and publishing institutions, and later they want to make the product available to individual users.
