Startup Gotcha Created Technology to Analyze Micro-Emotions

Gotcha is a startup that uses behavioral science research and facial expression analysis to recognize human micro-emotions.

As the founders of the company say, at first they wanted to create a psychological chatbot that would help people cope with depression, but later, during market research, they decided on emotion detection technology because there was relatively little competition in this market. In this way, Hamo Vetunci and Anna Gevorgian have created a technology that can detect lies based on human facial expressions.

According to the founders of Gotcha, their platform has two models based on different values - investigative and evaluative. The first model assesses the emotions of employees when working with customers and can be used during recruitment, measuring customer satisfaction and video conferencing. The investigative model is different and is mainly used during interviews - Gotcha's aim is to detect cases of fraud by analyzing hidden micro-emotions on a person's face. This Gotcha model is used in risk and compliance management, mental health and insurance operations.

The founders presented their startup at the 500 Global Georgia Demo Day.
