Sournelee - New Georgian Handmade Cosmetics Brand from Ruska Datukashvili

Sournelee is a newly-created startup by Ruska Datukashvili. By profession, she is a musicologist and PR technologist, however, she decided to implement her ideas and create a handmade natural cosmetic brand.

“My main inspiration for creating handmade soaps is the love towards natural cosmetics. Soap is the daily consumable product and I wanted to make such a product, which would have some benefits for skin instead of drying it out”, - Ruska Datukashvili noted and added, that the period of pandemic gave her more time and helped her a lot to create Sournelee.

Sournelee’s main feature is a pleasant aroma, which soap gets from natural, healing essential oils. The brand does not use any flavorings. 

“I started making soaps in September of 2020, and Sournelee launched on the market from December.”, says the founder of Sournelee.

As for the working process, she mentioned that making soaps is fascinating and takes a long time.

“It requires time and patience. The main ingredient for every soap is soap base, coconut and shea butter. Thanks to these basic ingredients, we do no longer feel dry skin while washing hands. The product nourishes and moisturizes the skin.”

The brand also offers customers a problematic skincare line for acne, scars, uneven skin tones, and excessive fat.

The products are currently available online via Facebook and Instagram pages. Customers can order their desired soap and the courier will deliver it to them within several days.

Ruska Davitashvili also discussed the matters of future plans with CBW and said that she plans to seek more beneficial recipes.

“I also think to expand production assortment and will soon offer different natural skincare products. I am sure that Sournelee will have its own stand in Tbilisi’s trading centers and the brand will partake in healthy competition with other cosmetic companies.”
