Social Enterprise 7R - Multifunctional Space Promotes Circular Economy in Zugdidi
Multifunctional space for environmental protection - social enterprise 7R is trying to popularize the circular economy in Zugdidi.
As the founder of the company told Business Partner, the main purpose of establishing 7R was to create a space in Georgia that would take care of the environment, reduce waste, promote a green/circular economy, and promote social entrepreneurship in the region.
"We live in an era of overconsumption, so it is important to create similar spaces in Georgia. According to our strategic plan, Social Enterprise 7R will be a multifunctional space that will combine several workshops, a zero-waste store, a common workspace, a waste sorting corner, and more."
At this stage, the first workshop of our enterprise - Zero Waste Fashion Workshop is in its active phase, where we make various accessories and decorative items from fabric waste. Each bag or decorative flag made in the workshop is almost unique because it is made from fabric waste. At the same time, it's a carrier of ecophilosophy. By purchasing it, you reduce the amount of fabric waste that goes to landfills, because the discarded fabric has almost the same negative impact on the environment as plastic waste," said Marie Bendeliani.
Enterprise orders are mostly corporate, such as conference bags, and decorative flags for events. Accessories created by 7R can be purchased online, via the FB page, and at various exhibitions in Zugdidi, Tbilisi and Batumi.
"We plan to diversify the product in the future. For example, to create bags of different sizes and shapes from old banners, to offer summer clothes. Also to offer our thematic workshops for both local and foreign tourists on how we can give new life to old fabrics,'' said the founder of 7R.
