Salevico - New Online Footware Store in Tbilisi

Salevico is a newly founded startup, which offers customers a wide range of shoes.

CBW had an interview with its founder, Salome Melashvili.

"I'm currently employed in the financing sector. The pandemic made me think of different ways of developing, and at the same time, I saw that the demand for online shopping increased. Therefore, I decided to start my own online shoe store, which would allow people to satisfy their desire for shopping during pandemic. It would have its own quality and would be accessible to everyone."

The founder also mentioned, that during the process of developing the brand, she established the concept of quality as an integral part of the product.

"I decided to give the experience to someone else that I would give myself as being close to ideal. I thought everything that was available was very similar to each other, so I created what I think is at least slightly different from the others."

Salome also tells us about the challenges along the way:

"For me as a manufacturer, who is responsible for its customer satisfaction, it was very important to always deliver a product that met their expectations. I was very nervous when my shoes went to the first subscriber. Will they like it? Will they be happy with their choice? When sending an order I always imagined myself at the customer’s place. These questions created chaos and sometimes I thought that maybe it would be better to leave this field and avoid even minor dissatisfactions. However, positive feedback from every customer became the main reason to take a new step forwards."

The brand was established during the pandemic. Its production is available online, on their official Facebook page. 

"If I had no free time and if the COVID had never happened, I could have never shown you Cinderella's shoes with my own eyes."

As for the working process, she is fully involved in daily activities.

"I want to meet the needs of each of our customers, so I read every message they text to me. It is interesting to work on new patterns. One can find a lot of inspiration in everyday life. While doing something different, I still think about the online space where presented products are created with my emotions, with lots of interesting offers in the future."

Currently, Salevico's collection involves shoes, however, the brand thinks of expanding the business in the near future and add different kinds of products.

"First of all, I hope we will be able to communicate with our customers not only online but also onsite, in a store where a lot of interesting things will be presented. I want my brand to be an example of how to create both quality and manufacture absolutely affordable products."
