GITA Launches ₾25,000 Regional Grant Program in Three Georgian Regions

The Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) has opened applications for a regional grant program aimed at fostering innovation and technology development in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, and Shida Kartli regions. This initiative is designed to strengthen the local innovative and technological ecosystems and encourage the creation of innovative products, services, technologies, and startups.

In 2023, the program recognized 41 winning projects from across all regions of Georgia. This year, the initiative expanded to six regions and identified 24 winners.

For the current competition, individuals and legal entities based in the specified regions are invited to submit their proposals through the online portal www.grants.gov.ge from August 9 to September 8. The proposals will undergo an evaluation by a commission composed of experts relevant to the profiles of the applicants. Selected startups will participate in a specialized training course covering topics such as market research, market entry strategies, scaling, and investment pitching. The maximum grant award is set at 25,000 GEL.

Eligibility for the grant extends to individuals, business entities, and startups that are registered and/or operating within the target regions. Unregistered individuals who win the competition will be required to register their business entity in the relevant region before signing the grant agreement, as stated by the agency.
