Georgian Startup Lingwing May Win 500 000 USD Grant
Lingwing, Georgian online platform for learning foreign languages has won Seedstars Tbilisi 2019 global startup competition.
The international event was organized by SeedstarsWorld, which seeks talented young people in 75 countries through startup competition and promotes development of innovative entrepreneurship.
Seedstars Tbilisi 2019 was held at Borjomi Likani hotel with the support of Alliance Group, Venture Capital Association, USAID project Government for Growth (G4G), Partnership Fund and Startup Georgia.
Partnership Fund executive director David Saganelidze has addressed participants of Seedstars Tbilisi 2019: ‘Today we are hosting international competition in Likani. Young people have one more opportunity to penetrate international market and introduce their innovative ideas to foreign investors. Promotion of startups in one of the key priorities for Partnership Fund. Therefore, we prove full support to similar projects”, Davis Saganelidze said.
More than 20 startups were selected as part of Seedstars Tbilisi 2019. Authors of ideas passed trainings with invited mentors for preparing the startup concepts. The competent jury has selected a winner project that will represent Georgia at the Global Seedstars summit in Switzerland. The summit winner startup will receive the main prize of 500 000 USD.
It is important to note that in 2018 the first Georgia IT company STYX was included among top 10 best companies of the international competition. Manly young people participate in the mentioned competition. No age restrictions run.
