Georgian Elven Technologies Ready for Commercialization of Fire-Proof Suits in the US
Innovative technology company Elven Technologies has been working since the spring of 2019 to create a flameproof firefighting suits equipped with an internal cooling system and has no analogs in the world. The authors of the uniform, made in Georgian handwriting, claim that the costume they created gives a high guarantee of fire protection.
At the end of 2020, the company received $ 50,000 in funding from one of the investors, the American venture studio Technovate, which is founded by Azerbaijani investor Farid Ismailzadeh and is currently financing 5 startups. Among them is the company Elven Technologies, the creator of the Georgian fire-resistant uniforms.
As the founder of the company Vamekh Kherkheulidze states with BM.GE, the creation of the product is completed. According to him, there is already technology according to which the degree of protection of firefighters during work increases.
According to him, at this stage, work is underway to commercialize the production method. The founders of the company are calculating the American market.
"I have been in the US since February. I took both our firefighter uniform and the cooling system with me. All the testing and research that was to be done on the firefighter uniform is complete. We can say that the uniform is ready. We are now preparing for commercialization, for which I am spending time in the United States. At the end of 2020, we received $ 50,000 in funding from Silicon Valley venture studio Technovate.
The venture studio has an Azerbaijani founder, with whom I am working on a product I have already created. He is also a member of our team. Our goal is not to produce uniforms, but we are going to sell the already created technology method in the form of a license, which will allow existing manufacturers to produce our uniforms in the US market," said Vamekh Kherkheulidze, founder of Elven Technologies.
For reference, the Georgian innovative product created by Georgian startups can withstand fire 5 times better than the uniform worn by Georgian and not only Georgian firefighters at the moment. However, more precisely, if a firefighter dressed in a standard uniform burns in 8-10 seconds, the Elven Technologies uniform will withstand a fire of the same scale for 40-50 seconds.
