CARTUNE Wins 100,000 GEL Grant from Startup Drive for an Innovative App in Automotive Industry
Soon, the innovative CARTUNE application will appear in Georgia, which will connect car users and car repairers. As it turned out, the startup idea of the students of Kutaisi International University, Toma Pirtskhelani and Mikheil Tenieshvili, which appeared a year ago, will become a reality sooner than they imagined. It was CARTUNE, the acceleration program of Tegeta Holding and Future Laboratory, that became the owner of the main prize and 100,000 GEL funding of the Startup Drive. With this victory, the team of seven students' distant and dream business has now become a plan for tomorrow.
Toma Pirtskhelani, co-founder of startup CARTUNE: "There is already an analogue of CARTUNE in the world, according to which we can judge the perspective. bookmygarage.com is a UK start-up that serves 6 million drivers and 20,000 garages, representing 20% of the UK garage market. We observe their development, learn a lot from them, and try to offer an equally innovative product to the population of Georgia.
The 100,000 GEL won allows us to further develop the product in order to see exactly the customer's problem that we are trying to solve. Within 6 months, we will have a platform tailored to the user's interests, where more than 200 auto workshops will be registered and which will make the daily lives of drivers much easier. After 6 months, we will be ready to start using the global market."
Within Startup Drive, teams with innovative ideas had the opportunity to participate in a three-month acceleration program. As Thomas says, this period, together with the accumulated experience, provided important contacts, which are still used for the proper development of the startup.
