Exports of sparkling wine are at a 7-year high. According to Geostat, $ 4,926 million worth of champagne exported from the country in 2021, which is the highest rate in recent years.

According to statistics, in 2020 Georgia exported 4,144 million USD worth of products, in 2019 - 4,350 million USD, in 2018 - 4,284 million USD, in 2017 - 4,431 million USD, in 2016 - 3,441 million USD, and in 2015 - 3,946 million USD USD.

The top ten countries to which Georgia exported champagne in 2021 are as follows:

  • Russia - 177.1 thousand liters (489.7 thousand USD)

For reference, the sales of champagne in the world market are characterized by an upward trend. According to the CNBC General Union of Winemakers, global markets have gradually opened up, with champagne sales worldwide rising to around 305 million bottles last year. In 2017, that figure was 307 million bottles.
